What is Reiki?
Rei (universal) Ki (energy) is gentle use of energy to support the body to find its natural balance. The body seeks balance and the universal energy of reiki encourages the body to self-heal. As reiki is gentle and non-invasive, it can safely benefit all ages, regardless of health conditions. Reiki is usually given as a stand alone treatment, but can also be given at the end of a massage or bodywork treatment, by extending the treatment by 30 minutes – please state this when booking. |
How can it help me?
Reiki flows to the area(s) in need of it, balancing, energising, and soothing these areas, supporting the body to self-heal. It is possible to heal at all levels of being; physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Some problems heal quicker than others; longstanding issues will take longer. Many people find that a reiki session leaves them feeling relaxed and calm. Relaxation is a key factor in wellbeing, as it promotes lower heart rate, stronger immunity, and reduced muscle tension. The closer we can get the body to its natural balance, the better its performance will be. Reiki complements other forms of treatment, and does not interfere with any other treatments you may also receive. |
What to expect from a session
Reiki can be given seated or lying down, and is always clothed. The practitioner channels energy over, and sometimes on the body. I take a ‘hands off’ approach to reiki, with minimal contact at the beginning and end of a session. Reiki can be given by distance healing, usually 'live' at a scheduled appointment time when you relax to receive the healing. We would have a short conversation before and after the healing session, first to discuss your situation and afterwards to follow up with your experience and any insights I had. |
