Hello, I'm Zoe, complementary and holistic therapist. I came to the complementary therapy industry from a background in education, sports coaching and mental health. This path led me to begin exploring more holistic methods of helping people, with a particular focus on where the mind and body meet. I began my bodywork training in Sports Massage and have since studied other bodywork theories and techniques, as well as Reiki, mindfulness, and crystal healing, to provide a holistic approach to each treatment/session. With additional training in 'women's health', trauma and scar tissue, I have developed an intuitive practice which leaves you feeling a positive change in your body and mind after every appointment.
I run my business in accordance with my values and beliefs; I work to improve clients' health, supporting them back to wellness and empowering them to reach their potential. I strongly believe everyone has the right to access the wellbeing treatments and sessions which work for them, and to try out new ways of managing their health and wellbeing. I always share information with my clients, to empower them to better understand their situation, and wherever possible give suggestions for clients to continue to look after their own wellbeing through self-care and self-practice at the end of a session. I always have a limited number of subsidised spaces for clients in difficult financial situations. I have a number of vouchers and voluntary days per year available for charity and fundraising events. I run my vegan business in an ethical and sustainable manner; please see my ethical statement below for more information. |
My journey through the sectors I have worked in has been led and directed by my interests, but also heavily influenced by my experiences. Mental and physical health challenges have at times made it very difficult for me to relax and unwind, focus on joy, ground into the present moment, and connect to my body.
I can empathise with how difficult it can be to seek help and explain one's situation to strangers, and in the same beat, I can attest to the difference it made to me when I finally braved it. I have always been an eager participant in sports and all pursuits outdoors, and so I know from both sides what it means to enjoy pain-free movement. It is for these reasons I studied a combination of different techniques to be able to provide a wellness programme tailored to clients' individual needs, helping you to re-align posture, reconnect to your body and let go of physical and emotional tension. All the methods of treatment and healing I use today are ones which have helped me personally, and they are all strategies I still use today as part of my self care. Massage and bodywork helps me to manage chronic pain and has helped my recovery from surgery. Mindfulness helped me out of a very dark patch and prevents me from experiencing overwhelm, instead allowing me to feel spacious and calm. Reiki helps me to feel balanced and relaxed, as well as helping with specific symptoms when they come up. Crystal healing helps me with everything from physical issues to managing my mood, and decision making. You can read more about my story here. |
